Description:
Responsible for merging Lebhar-Friedman, Inc. and Dowden Health Media;
health and medical media publishing companies with over $400.000.000 in yearly revenues.
Designed and deployed the project in its entirety.
Project goal was to seamlessly merge both companies into one
while sharing and maintaining both companies databases;
off loading the IT departments from both companies,
including current and future site developments;
setting up an 'on-the-fly' backup/fallback secondary site
that would kick in seamlessly in the event that the main site went down.
The main site is hosted in NY: Colo 100mb pipe with Cogent Communication (with 2 different ISP BGP.)
The fall-back site is hosted in our main office in NJ with a dedicated DS3 45mb pipe (with 2 different ISP BGP.)
In addition, as Project Manager I:
- Installed and configured Fortigate Firewalls with high availability and redundancy
- Installed and configured F5 BIGIP for load balancing (GTM modules on both ends) with high availability and redundancy
- Installed and configured Doubletake for on-the-fly site to site live replication and Data backup
- Installed and configured Cisco 7206VXR and Catalyst 6509 with 2 different ISP BGP and a site to site VPN for all sites involved with high availability and redundancy
- Installed and configured 2003 active directory domain (for the purpose of application management)
- Installed and configured servers as clustered, high availability with ILO and redundancy
- Installed and configured HP servers platforms - DL360,DL380 and MSA500, on the fall-back site Dell 2850, 2950, 6850 Power Edge Servers
- Performed ARIN registration for companies also registered for ISP independent IP allocation, including ASN numbers for BGP Routing
- Configured server and environment security, remote management and live alerts.
