• Familiar with Disk Quota, Distributed File System, Shadow Copying, and Software Raid.
• Adhere to all security measures consistent with approved security standards, i.e., Help desk; coordinate workflow among other personnel in the absence of a senior subordinate in the Help Desk Directorate.
• Provide feedback on recurring problems while following up outstanding calls. Create trouble tickets; diagnose system failures, troubleshoot internal software malfunctions and resolve conflicting issues.
• Install/update software and configure new software when needed. Configure Outlook accounts using Microsoft Office 2000/2003. Perform data recovery on critical data. Join computers to domain; re-map shared network drives, set up proxy configuration and manage print servers.
• Built custom computers for local companies and individual clients as specified. Loaded computers with Windows 98, XP, and Server 2000 operating systems.
• Imaged hard-drives using Norton Ghost and Drive Image Pro. Back-up and retrieved data from failing hard drives. Duties required service calls to perform residential and commercial network setups. Configured and tested cat 5 cabling for installations of network projects. Installations included cable runs through attics and walls.
• Performed computer diagnostics and resolved problems in response to customer reported incidents. Duties included Installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining customer hardware and software.
• Supported Windows Server 2000 with Norton Antiviral Corporate Edition. Replaced bad motherboards, hard drives, power supplies, sound cards, video cards, modems, memory and network cards.
• Assist customers with technical advice when purchasing computers, printers, scanners, monitors and internal computer components.
