Description:
HSBC Connect is an OLTP (online and Batch) Application running on Mainframe used for validating, transforming, extracting and routing of Payments/Instructions send by Corporate customers. These Payments/instructions are generated through ERP systems or HSBCnet portal provided by HSBC to Customers. These payments are received in Files from clients either through Internet using FTP or Client Gatewayύs using X25 network. HSBCnet interfaces with HSBC connect application using distributed system architecture. Files formats can be EDI, SWIFT, EDIFACT, and other customer strategic formats. These instructions after validation and transformation are loaded into Data warehouse for advice generation and routing to different back offices. All Programs used embedded SQL queries for Database interaction. Acknowledgments are sent to customers and interfacing applications after every stage of customer file processing. Acknowledgment formats are BANSTA, FINSTA, CONTRL, CSV, XML and other customer specific formats. PR - The term PR means the problem report. Whenever there is a production problem or when the users need clarification on their reports, the application coordinator/application manager creates a problem report on the POWR site- web based database, which is owned by the client to track the status of PR/WR.
WR - The term WR means the work request. Whenever there is a change in configurable item ignored to fix the problem report or when an enhancement request comes from the users, the application coordinator/ application manager creates a work request on the POWR site.
Areas of work involved:
The project includes Maintenance, Enhancements and supporting activities of Inventory and other applications. Objective of the project is to provide support, which encompasses the day-to-day maintenance and enhancement support of the licensed materials of the client. This includes responding to problem reports/calls that are raised by the IBM Operations group and also by the users. The problems will be fixed according to the service level agreement (SLA) between the company and the client.
