I have worked as a web/graphic designer, webmaster, and QA tester for various companies since 1997. A few of these web sites may no longer be live or using my designs, but I have screenshots of my work set up here in case a website cannot be viewed.

HIPS AND CURVES 2006-07
Website Manager, Newsletter Editor, and QA Tester.

Designed layout and graphics for email campaigns in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and in both Dreamweaver and hand-coded HTML. Managed mailings in ListBuilder and eNewsletterPro. Tracked newsletter and sales stats in Everest. Managed website, added products, and kept content up to date with Content Manager. Built new ASP pages with Dreamweaver. Assisted customers with technical issues. When I started in August 2006, the email list subscriber amount was 19,000. As of January 2007, Hips and Curves had 33,000 subscribers.

LOS ANGELES SEXUALITY CENTER 2003-06
Website Manager, QA Tester, and Blog Moderator

Managed website content management and subscribers for the Los Angeles Sexuality Center's online library, Compedium Sexualis, using the PHP-based content manager system. Moderated blog panels and provided technical support to renowned psychologists who were members of the site. Managed online subscription system and processed member payments. Managed database of members and set up member accounts.

POTION 2003 (contract)
Lead Web Designer

Designed and developed look and feel of website, information architecture, layout, and UI structure in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Macromedia Flash, and Macromedia Dreamweaver. Built MySQL database to allow client easier addition of more products should their online store expand in the future. Installed shopping cart using PHP/MySQL. Assisted client in setting up a merchant account. Taught client how to process online orders in Miva merchant shopping cart.

WHEEL ENHANCEMENT 2003 (contract)
Lead Web Designer

Gave existing website a design facelift using Adobe Illustrator and Macromedia Dreamweaver. Designed new search features such as "Products Recently Viewed" and "May We Suggest" to boost their e-commerce ability. Organized and catalogued products in MySQL database.

UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA LOS ANGELES (UCLA) 2001-03
Webmaster

At UCLA, I worked in the Office of International Students and Programs as the Webmaster. I managed the Office website and the sub-domains of that office, including websites for special programs. I designed the overall look and feel of all websites, logos, graphics, and I organized all web content for the office. I also installed an Universal Bulletin Board to help foster an online community for the international students. I also helped organize the International Film Festival; I recruited filmmakers, actors, and artists for moderation panels and helped screen and select films, and designed the website and promotional advertising materials for the festival. Designed and created Flash and XML files for the Dartmouth University Online MBA Program using Macromedia Flash 4 and HomeSite.

Project Coordinator and Lead Web Designer

I worked on two sites for the LACMA: "The Road to Aztlan" exhibition site, which can be viewed here, and the Museum Collections Online site. On both sites, I assisted on page layout, overall look and feel of site, and managed a team of writers. I built the information architecture, proofread and organized content, and built the HTML pages using Front Page. I built pop-up windows in the exhibition calendar using JavaScript.

LOS ANGELES CHAMBER OF COMMERCE 2000-01
Web Designer

Designed and created look and feel of website for Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce. Built and developed website in Homesite and created graphics in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator.

Position Specification

Title: Senior Exchange Engineer

The Team

Technical Architecture – The position is a part of the Research and Development department and fills a senior role in our messaging systems development group. The teams involved consist of managers/staff, Communications Department, Operations, Application Development, contractors, and vendors.

Position description

As a senior member of our messaging R&D department, the candidate will be responsible for maintaining and improving the company’s state of the art global messaging environment with some cross platform (Microsoft/Cisco) unified messaging design and support.

The candidate will work with SMTP, Microsoft Exchange Server, Presence, SonicWall, and related email concepts, protocols and methods along with the opportunities to perform major upgrades to our messaging platforms. The candidate will work alongside our Communications department to help design and support our unified messaging environment.

Person

The candidate shall have a broad background in messaging technologies and shall have demonstrated proficiency in the following areas:
• Exchange 2003\Exchange 2007
• Live Communication server (LCS)\Office Communications Server (OCS)
• Mobile Messaging Technologies (Active Sync, BlackBerry, Good Technologies)
• Remote Messaging Technologies (OWA, RPC over HTTP)

Job Responsibilities

The candidate will have the following responsibilities with the potential of expanding:
• Researching and developing solutions to meet enterprise wide messaging needs.
• Researching, architecting, testing and planning the integration of new messaging technologies and upgrades to existing platforms.
• Staying current with new technologies, and industry best practices; particularly those dealing with messaging and storage.
• High level maintenance and troubleshooting of the current Exchange 2003 messaging environment based on industry “best practices”. (Responsibilities include but are not limited to troubleshooting and resolving high level mail routing issues, public folder issues, mailbox issues, Exchange server\services issues; adding\removing messaging servers, configuring servers, services, routing policies, etc., establishing maintenance procedures based on current industry BP).
• Maintaining and troubleshooting SMTP internet gateway issues (Currently SonicWall).
• Maintaining and troubleshooting Live Communications server 2005.
• Establishing DR procedures for all relevant messaging servers. (Exchange, LCS, Blackberry, Good etc).
• Maintaining and troubleshooting BlackBerry and Good Technologies servers.
• Maintaining and troubleshooting Outlook Web Access \ RPC over HTTP
• Maintaining and Configuring EMC SANs and FC Switches.
• Working with Communications group to troubleshoot Cisco Unity issues.
• Keeping documentation up to date for the messaging environment.
• Testing and deployment of upgrades, hot fixes and other updates.

Education and/or Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent 7 to 10 years of relevant experience.
• Excellent problem solving, written and oral communication skills.
• Deep knowledge of SMTP, Microsoft Exchange Server, and related email concepts, protocols and methods are required.
