Responsibilities
Responsible for the planning, installation, configuration, documentation, maintenance and management of enterprise data network services and equipment. Provide technical support for end users, system administrators and applications analysts with network connectivity and performance issues. Management, support, and planning of all corporate networks to include; network expansion, and technology replacement. Proactively monitor networks to assure systems are operational, maximizing network capabilities and availability. Successes
Migrated main hospital campus from shared 10Base T Ethernet hubs and terminal servers to switched Fast Ethernet with Gigabit up links. Worked with managers and desktop technicians to roll out personal computers. Removed and replaced obsolete equipment. Extended fiber optic cabling to include entire hospital campus, replaced multiple leased lines. Succeeded in adding resiliency and redundancy to the network. Researched, designed and implemented a wireless LAN in the hospital. Grew the health system network from a handful of frame relay leased lines to a Multi-Site enterprise network. Utilizing leased lines, carrier IP services, private fiber optic cable, broadband VPN, and high speed wireless links. Added new sites to the network. Implemented Web sense internet filtering. Implemented public internet access WiFi network for hospital guests and visitors. Participated on the project team to implement EMC storage arrays and to move the organization’s data from HP storage platforms to the EMC platforms. Planned a new redundant network infrastructure with multiple redundant links. Supervised an intern from NHTI.
