(12/07 – 07/10) Application Development Analyst – Dell Computers, TAG TMI 421 S 9TH ST, LINCOLN, NE, 685082261
Company Direction: TAG processes life and annuity insurance information for major insurance companies such as Old Mutual and Swiss Re.
Responsibilities:
 Member of a team processing and maintaining new insurance applications for participating client insurance companies. This position required both online and batch processing using TPCOBOL and COBOL on a VM/CMS mainframe.
 Projects involved updates to an online proprietary VSAM storage file that contained rules that governed the way the applications were entered and processed.
 Projects required analysis and writing of the functional specification document, analysis and writing of a technical specification document then coding, testing and doing elevation to a model office environment.
 Technical Lead for TAG application development and 24/7 on-call duties.
Environment:
OS/390 with MVS with CMS. Tools were proprietary and the online environment was TPCOBOL – a proprietary interactive batch COBOL environment. Change control was also proprietary using TAG procedural methods.

(03/99 - 11/07) Application Architect - First Data Resources, Omaha, NE
Company Direction: First Data Resources processes credit card information for major banks such as Bank of America and Wells Fargo along with smaller banks.
Responsibilities:
 Member of teams handling changes/analysis of DB2, non-monetary changes, and new business changes. These teams required both online and batch skills in COBOL, CICS, Assembler and DB2.
 Participated in very large company level project to analyze and re-platform VSAM data to a new DB2 platform to make these DB2 tables the ' data of record'.
 Used AbInitio during a 9 month project to rewrite a reporting system. This was performed using a UNIX operating system in a PC/server environment.
 Completed analysis and coding using IBM MQSeries – MOM to replace sequential processing and maintain some redundant data stores used for performance.
 Performed analysis to enhance DB2 and batch job performance involving analysis and identification of offending DB2 statements, recursive processing and incorrect usage of indexes.
 Did analysis and wrote technical designs to be passed to programmers for coding.
 Participated in business requirement meetings, code reviews and helped write a new SDLC document.
 Worked closely with DB2 DBAs to set up DB2 tables, analysis of data to the correct normal form, usage of Platinum, SPUFI and QMF to verify SQL and correct DB2 problems.
 Recovered DB2 data from logs lost during a major procedural error in a batch process.

 OS/390 mainframe using TSO. Tools used were Intertest, FileAid, QMF, SPUFI, Platinum and AbInitio in a UNIX environment. Change control was accomplished using Endeavor.

Responsibilities:
 Developed in COBOL, CICS, Assembler and DB2.
 Member of a non-monetary team for an Oil credit card processing group.
 Performed analysis and coding for the new business development organization.
 Completed analysis and coding for the new card application team.

 OS/390 mainframe using TSO. Tools used were Intertest, Expeditor, FileAid, QMF, Spufi, and Platinum. Change control was accomplished using Endeavor.

(07/96 - 08/97) Software Engineer - Productive Data Systems, Denver, CO

Responsibilities:
• First Data Resources - Performed analysis and coding for correction of Y2K code problems.
 Union Pacific - Performed analysis and coding for correction of Y2K code problems.

OS/390 mainframe using TSO. Tools used were Intertest, FileAid, Expeditor. Change control was accomplished using Endeavor.

(06/95 - 07/96) Software Engineer - US Software, Omaha, NE
Company Direction: US Software developed credit card processing software which was sold and installed at banks in the US and internationally.
Responsibilities:
 Maintained and analyzed programs using COBOL, Assembler, JCL, VSAM in a batch and online in an OS/390 mainframe environment.
 Helped convert mainframe COBOL applications to MicroFocus COBOL on an RS/6000 Unix server using Unix JCL scripts.
 Traveled internationally installing CreditMaster software in banks.
 Traveled to SaoPaulo, Brazil and assisted in installing the software and verifying all changes. Worked remotely with the programmers at this bank to debug software problems which were introduced after the installation by the owning bank.
 Worked with a bank in Toronto, Canada installing the beta version of MicroFocus COBOL Creditmaster software on an RS/6000 UNIX server.

 OS/390 mainframe using TSO and RS/6000 Unix server. Tools used were Intertest and FileAid. Change control was accomplished using Endeavor.

Company Direction: First Data Resources processes credit card information for major banks such as Bank of America and Wells Fargo along with smaller banks.
Responsibilities:
 Coded and maintained online CICS programs using Assembler and COBOL for a credit card authorization system in an OS/390 mainframe environment.
 Completed analysis to determine changes needed to conform to MasterCard and VISA regulations.
 Did certifications with MasterCard and VISA after regulations were coded for verification.
 Used TCP/IP connections, Intertest and Source Dependent Routing to test authorizations coming from a POS device.

 OS/390 mainframe using TSO. Tools used were Intertest and FileAid. Change control was accomplished using Endeavor.

(005/90 - 02/94) Application Developer - Physicians Mutual Insurance Company, Omaha, NE
Company Direction: Physicians Mutual Insurance Company sells and services life and health insurance policies.
Responsibilities:
 Maintained, developed and debugged batch mainframe programs using COBOL, Assembler, JCL, VSAM and sequential file processing.
 Did coding and analysis on the Birthday Life system and created letters from purchased lists.
 Worked with Deloitte Touché doing analysis to rewrite the system.
