Provided technical expertise and supported local sales team activities for Hewlett-Packard hardware, software and services. Responsibilities included providing quotes, developing solution architectures, creating and delivering technical presentations, providing pre-sales technical consulting, generating proposals, creating business justifications, developing technical and process documentation, performance tuning, assisting in technology evaluations and implementing customer solutions. Efforts assisted sales team in generating over $300M worth of business in two years worldwide.
Major accomplishments:
• Technical Lead for 30 person team responsible for global infrastructure consolidation of data center resources. Scope included core infrastructure servers, Linux, E-Mail systems, NOC operations, UNIX database and application servers, solution proposals and migration strategies.
• Developed infrastructure performance/availability support plan for Jaguar North American race weekends, resulting in guarantied bandwidth and up-time on race weekends. Achievement resulted in the reward of the HP “Thanks a Million” 2001 award.
• Put into service, a Linux HPC environment for crash test analysis utilizing 164 CPUs. Further consolidating the footprint in a later phase of the project by utilizing 1st generation HP blade technology.

Starting as a system engineer, quickly promoted to a lead engineer, then to senior technical architect on the team that developed, tested, and implemented all standard and customized solutions being released into Ford Motor Company’s global operations. This included global launches of Cisco hardware infrastructure, Windows based servers, and desktops, Unix servers and workstations, Linux servers, storage solutions, and Novell NOS releases. The environment consists of more than 350 site locations, 230,000+ desktops, and 1,500+ servers.
Major accomplishments:
• One of three developers responsible for Fords Novell Netware 5.0 launch including more than 380 servers in four continents. At the time the second largest implementation in the world.
• Selected to lead major launch of the rollout of 525 servers and installation of 350+ Windows NT resource domains and trust relationships.
• Developer of the global Windows desktop release, completing development and testing sixty days ahead of schedule. Desktop was rolled out to 120,000 users in 8 languages.
• Implemented rigorous development and testing processes and decreased all new server and desktop issues by 75%.
• Created the first set of security standards for Windows desktops and servers, helping Ford to avoid many of the original wide scale virus outbreaks.
