Configuring and managing Cisco routing and switching products including the Content Switch Module


Ensure that the network devices are configured optimally.

Monitors and tunes networks and system performance. Establishes capacity performance monitoring.


Monitoring and tuning the network ensure that the network is performing at optimal level.

Work with vendors and common carriers during problem analysis/resolution as required.


Working with vendors is needed to resolve outage as quickly as possible.

Prepares and maintains standard operating procedures for network, technical specifications and documents, drawings, system documentation including operations management.


Following operating procedures and documentation is essential to having a well run network.

Responsible for the evaluation of vendor proposals and benefits of changes in hardware, communications protocols, switching methods, access methods, and tariffs, and in the procurement of software and hardware.


New technologies must be evaluated and implemented to continually improve the network efficiency and reliability.

Participates and consults in the planning, design and integration of new networks.


Planning and integrating new network must be done carefully not to effect production network.

Provides technical guidance and assists in the training of less experienced Network Engineers.


Assist in training Junior Engineers to do routine configurations will allow Sr. Network Engineers time to learn new technologies.

Minimum Requirements: Bachelors in Comp. Science or equivilant and a Masters is preferred. A CCIE or equivilant skill set which is required in the technology that is required. Hands on experience and in-depth knowledge of L4-L7 networking technologies including Local and Global Server Load Balancing technologies and products. Experience with F5 products and technologies is a huge plus. Knowledge of Routing and Switching technologies and products including Ethernet switching, VLAN technologies, OSPF/BGP routing, Datacenter design principles. Description: Product Engineering: Work with engineering team across several international locations, identify and recommend technology solutions which satisfy the need of the firm's business while meeting with the key ITI objectives. Work closely with internal stakeholders, identify and priortize the requirements for new and existing technologies and products within the areas of responsibility. Translate those requirements into technical designs, solutions and roadmaps which are cost effective and globally consistent. Hands on technical evaluations and certifications of new technologies, products and features. Develop test plans and success criteria in preparation for testing/certification activities. Compile detailed documentation and test reports for management and peer review. Collaborate with global engineering team and other stakeholders, establish and maintain Product Roadmaps (6-36 months) which reflect the technology direction.

Operational support and Documentation: Maintain detailed and up to date documentation of product standards for the IT infrastructure. Product Standards may include configuration templates, approved hardware lists. OS revisions and design templated. Publish detailed standard updates in descrete release bundles on the quarteerly basis. Develop new product standards. Coordinate vendor escalations and support for critical issues, acting as a bridge between the vendors engineering resources and the staff.

Project Support: Provide expert level design assistance for the firm's major IT projects. Work with Project Managers early in the project cycle in an effort to deliver appropiate designs.

The Team

Technical Architecture – The position is a part of the Research and Development department and fills a senior role in our messaging systems development group. The teams involved consist of managers/staff, Communications Department, Operations, Application Development, contractors, and vendors.

Position description

As a senior member of our messaging R&D department, the candidate will be responsible for maintaining and improving the company’s state of the art global messaging environment with some cross platform (Microsoft/Cisco) unified messaging design and support.

The candidate will work with SMTP, Microsoft Exchange Server, Presence, SonicWall, and related email concepts, protocols and methods along with the opportunities to perform major upgrades to our messaging platforms.
