Product Team Lead Responsibility for DRAM product test; test development of memory components and modules for IBM servers, the Microsoft XBOX and graphics cards customers.
Job Functions:
Responsible for the planning and technical execution of all necessary Product Test topics from first prototypes through product qualification, volume ramp and sustaining
Responsible for analysis of first prototypes, including identification of problems and design marginalities, as well as understanding their root cause
Implementation of different quality grades to sell DRAM components according to their test results into high-quality market (i.e. key customers) and lower performance parts to the Asia-Pacific region
Definition of test contents to verify product adherence to the datasheet
Creating Project plan: Developed Timeline for product development and headcount plan for Test engineers. Responsible for Product Test equipment ordering to ensure testability of first prototypes
Working with Design, Test and Product Definition Engineering to translate Product Requirements into Technical Specifications to enable implementation of new features based on customer needs
Working with silicon fabs and assembly plants in US, Europe and Asia to ensure high quality and timely manufacturing of product
Point of contact for Quality Department, Application Engineering and Technical Marketing for customer questions and concerns
Reporting product status to management, highlighting achievements and risks, and escalating issues as necessary. Documentation of results, milestones. Monthly and weekly reports.
Conduct weekly meetings for product test engineers to monitor status of work packages, and discuss necessary action items.
Supported and conducted product training to new engineers
Senior Product Test Engineer Product Engineering, Infineon Technologies, Cary, NC
March 2001 March 2004
In charge of quality topics and technical analysis of SDR, DDR1 and DDR2 customer return components. Organized all technical details of necessary analysis with engineers/technicians and followed through until technical solution was identified and implemented in production
Modified, used and wrote patterns for Advantest ATE (T55XX series) to find root cause of failing memory component
Technical Interface to Program Management and Quality Department, reporting on technical details of device quality and reliability problems
Wrote customer return reports for Quality Department summarizing the identified problems and the corrective action implemented
Test Engineer DRAM Development Alliance, Siemens-Infineon/IBM, Fishkill, NY
May 1997 March 2001
Worked on wafer level characterization of DRAM devices, focusing on wafer yield detractor identification and yield enhancement strategies, physical failure mechanisms, parametric analysis
Developed pattern recognition algorithm that classifies defects occurring during wafer processing
Analyzed yield detractor data to identify cause of production yield loss. Worked with and provided input to process engineers on potential process and equipment problems
Developed and implemented SAS/SQL software in a UNIX environment that tabulates and charts typical wafer defects

Education: |
Ph.D., Physics, May 1997
Ohio University, Athens, OH
Dissertation Title: Theory of Defects and Dopants in amorphous and crystalline Semiconductors
Used a mathematical model to simulate the electric behavior of doped semiconductors. Compared model results to experimental outcomes and provided explanation why certain elements are more suitable for p-and n-type doping.
M.S., Physics, June 1993
Ohio University, Athens, OH
Studied the behavior of amorphous carbon semiconductors using the Monte Carlo mathematical model
B.S., Physics, June 1990
University of Dortmund, Germany
