Wilshire Associates (Senior Analyst, Applications and production programmer) 3/2007-6/2008
Supported daily production, and web tasks; updated web-pages, and wrote perl scripts to retrieve data.
Programmed a web-site (web-survey) in Perl, and html, which included results emailed as a CSV report.
Programmed a quarterly report in java, which involved calculating style-scores for DJW 5000, S&P, and Russell equities.
Also programmed in Bash, some isql (sql run in scripts, and at command-line), and analyzed Bourne shell scripts.
Wrote long, complex sql queries, learned how to break them up into java for better performance, and serialized the result-collection for even faster performance and troubleshooting.
I’ve used hashes, in both Perl and Java.
All code ran on a Unix Solaris server.
The SQL ran against Sybase DB server, which is very similar to SQL Server, minus a few nice-to-have features.
