Proposed algorithms using Bayesian probabilistic approach on a test set of images to arrive at an importance map of objects, that performed remarkably well when compared to that of Osberger et al in terms of predicting the perceived interest for the same set of images.

Teaching and assisting a class of 30 students to reinforce and demonstrate theoretical concepts and methods through laboratory experiments in network analysis of first and second order circuits using MATLAB and PSpice.

Masters Thesis: “Predicting the perceived interest of objects in images”: Developed an algorithm to predict the region of interest of an image.
Projects in Digital Image/Signal Processing and Computer Vision using MATLAB
• Developed automated face detection algorithm using skin pixels and morphological processing.
• Image restoration using wiener filtering.
• Color image segmentation using k-means clustering and EM algorithm.
• Edge detection using Laplacian of Gaussian, Canny edge detector and matched filter detection.
• Geometric camera calibration to identify 2D image domain location of a set of 3D points (or) a 3D moving target and performed texture classification using Gabor filters.
• Image enhancement in spatial and frequency domains using power law transformations, histogram equalization, laplacian operator, Gaussian and Butterworth filters.
• Performed down sampling and up sampling of audio signals and designed filters using various windowing techniques such as hamming, hanning and blackman windows.
