Responsible for the end-to-end system and network equipment specifications including security, implementation, and support of the global network for the corporation. Acted as the driving force behind a move from a mix of Solaris under Sun and Intel to Linux for our distributed Oracle databases.

Consultant/Contractor
Worked for Sun Integration on port from a Wang 12000 to two S2000s implementing HA. Automated the conversion of Wang COBOL database to RM then MicroFocus COBOL. Also developed tools to replace the Wang tools with the “same” look and feel using the WISP environment.

Software Systems Engineer / Systems Administrator, 1989-1994
Set up the development test lab for new seed group doing advanced configuration management for hardware and software designs for the Defense Systems Group. Led the most talented staff of 19 individuals I have ever seen. Responsible for project engineering on MIMI (MSG to Internet Mail Interface). Wrote the user interface changes in the PowerTrack Adaptation of DEC PowerFrame Product in addition to the required design documentation. Defense cuts killed a miracle in the making.
Engineering Supervisor, Hardware and Communications Software Section, 1985-1989
Supervised the hardware and communications software section of the TI Customer Support Line which managed day-to-day operations and resolved escalated customer problems. Received the Quality Award and entry to the Quality Hall of Fame—TI’s highest peer nominated and selected award.
Technical Services Supervisor, 1981-1985
Managed personnel servicing the TI family of computer systems in a proprietary OS and Unix development. Designed the original thick-net backbone Ethernet for the Austin site. Member of the Austin Site Safety Council.
Working Supervisor, 1979-1981
Supervised auto-insertion maintenance. Led and trained the electromechanical staff servicing these machines to improve uptime. Twice I received the site award for most innovative MIR (Method Improvement) of the month, one of which USM subsequently adopted in next generation machines.
