Role:
They are looking for an experienced Sr. DevOps (Systems) Engineer to help us grow our expanding infrastructure and enable us to keep up with our fast growing customer base. As our Sr. Systems Engineer you will be responsible for network and system architecture, scaling, monitoring and reliability. This is a very hands-on position that will have direct influence over all aspects of the companys current and future systems infrastructure.
In this Sr. DevOps role you will:
Contribute to planning efforts for disaster recovery, capacity expansion, component upgrading and system hardening.
Day-to-day management of the primary revenue-generating, customer-facing application environments.
Configure and troubleshoot systems and networks.
Monitor site stability, availability and performance.
Ensure highest level of system and network security.
Log and monitor critical data and systems.
Document system design, environment and procedures.
Coordinate with team members on corporate systems, network and IT disaster recovery plan.
Develop custom tools as necessary.
Apply patch or firmware updates as necessary.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in CS, EE or related field desired, or equivalent experience.
Minimum 3 yrs System Administration experience, 2 yrs programming.
Expert with *nix (Unix, Linux RedHat, Fedora, CentOS, Debian) as your expertise.
Virtualization infrastructure experience (Xen, virtual box, KVM).
Familiar with Ruby programming and MVC architecture.
Basic understanding TCP/IP.
Fluent in debian GNU / Linux, S3, EC2 (Amazon Web Service or AWS exp), MySQL / PostgreSQL (configuration, administration, syntax and query optimization).
Comfortable working with or learning: Chef (Puppet), Nginx, Unicorn, (webserver exp.), Ruby, MySQL, Memcache, Varnish, (caching), RabbitMQ and distributed hash tables (Cassandra, Voldimort, MongoDB, Redis).
