The company is looking for Test Engineers who are self-motivated to test beautiful and easy to use interfaces. They take pride in not only the product but also the code that runs it. The environment is fast paced, with releases occurring every 2-4 months.
I'm looking for someone who understands IT (a Network Administrator that has gone into test would be great), is not so Enterprise minded (likes start-ups), can work in a rapidly changing test environment, knows how to test a web application, and as a bonus can do basic coding (mainly Ruby scripting and Watir).
The new hires to the QA group are not given automation tasks right away and so the coding is not a requirement. It's a bonus if they can help out in this area but we really need someone who has a good eye for UI testing and usability although they have to be able to grasp the bigger picture and think beyond the UI. In this position there will be a lot of manual testing.
