The Technical Publications Supervisor (TPS) will oversee and participate personally in the creation, modification and / or release of externally targeted company technical publications. Externally targeted publications include, but are not limited to such things as User’s Manuals, Installation Manuals, Troubleshooting Procedures, Service Bulletins and Component Maintenance Manuals. Where external resources are utilized in the generation of these documents, the TPS will coordinate the efforts of these external resources. The TPS may also participate in the generation of internal Technical Specifications, Customer Proposals and Corporate Procedures as time permits. The TPS works with a significant amount of independence, while taking direction from Manager of Product Support.
¨ Maintain familiarity with the design and operation of current and newly released company products.
¨ Interface with customers, Engineering and Manufacturing personnel, and external contract resources as necessary to satisfactorily complete tasks.
¨ Work with Development Engineering and Support personnel during the product development phase to ensure availability of necessary user documentation concurrent with the release of products.
¨ Work with Development Engineering during product development and regulatory certification to develop necessary documentation for the regulatory requirements.
¨ Work with Engineering and Support personnel as required, to implement changes to existing product publications as product hardware or software evolves.
¨ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a technical or publishing field
¨ Familiarity with DO-178 Software Certification Guidelines
¨ Familiarity with aircraft systems and equipment
¨ Familiarity with ATA documentation standards
Familiarity with one or more CAD drafting products
