Join a fast-moving, Agile team in one of the industry's hottest sectors in perfecting the technology that is revolutionizing the Daily Deal space. Our application is built on Ruby on Rails (2.3.x) and uses MySQL and Memcached as data stores. On the front-end, we use jQuery, CoffeeScript, HAML and SASS. We are looking for a sharp, experienced individual to make an immediate impact on our team. That individual will work directly with the CTO on implementation strategy for new features and refinement to the existing code and architecture. He or she will be responsible for managing the velocity of a team of 2 other engineers.
The ideal candidate for this position has a great work ethic and self-management skills. He or she will be a key member of our development team as we seek to further build out our product and expand both domestically and internationally.
Required Skills:
• Ruby on Rails architecture and development
• Apache, SVN, Memcached, SQL Standard Rails stack tools
• Object-Oriented JavaScript, preferably with jQuery
• Experience in a fast-paced, Agile environment
• Bache lor's Degree or advanced degree in Computer Science,
• Engineering or related field or equivalent work experience
• 5-7 years of experience designing production-level applications
• Strong command of web standards and best practices
• Personal characteristics
• Self-motivated individual willing to take ownership of key projects
• Excellent communication skills and leadership potential
• A passion for entrepreneurial endeavors
• The ability innovate when necessary to meet business requirements on a short timetable
Desired Skills:
• NoSQL and MapReduce (e.g. MongoDb, Riak)
• Continuous Integration, BDD, TDD
• HAML/SASS
• CoffeeScript
