You will be responsible for all aspects of physical implementation from netlist to GDS, including chip floor plan, clock distribution, full chip assembly, P&R, timing closure, physical verification (DRC/LVS), tapeout and mask review. Interface with other design groups to ensure time to market and quality of results. You will also participate in establishing and defining physical design methodologies and flow automation.
This position requires a BSEE or closely related degree and 5+ years industry experience in a Physical Design / Layout Engineer position.
Candidate should be capable of doing layout designs of mixed signal devices, place and route, and backend verification using Calibre.
Candidate should have good knowledge of the following tools: Cadence Virtuoso, Mentor Graphics Calibre DRC and LVS.
Candidate should preferably have strong knowledge of Cadence SOC Encounter for physical synthesis, floorplanning, cell placement, ECO's, and timing driven routes.
Ideal candidate would also have working knowledge of design synthesis, scan insertion, and clock tree synthesis.
Must have good communication, teamwork, and debug/analysis skills for layout designs and technology files.
