Job Summary:
The basis engineer handles the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the SAP technical environment, including occasional evening and weekend work and some on-call shifts.
Responsibilities:
* Configure, monitor, tune and troubleshoot the SAP technical environment on an ongoing basis.
* Coordinate with extended IT groups and database administrators, networking for systems support and scheduled maintenance.
* Coordinate ongoing production, testing, and training
* Perform regularly scheduled performance checks, tasks, backups, and recovery within the SAP environment.
* Manage transports via the Transport Management System.
* Monitor the system using the Computing Center Management System.
* Manage and execute system installations, upgrades, system copies, SAP kernel updates and SAP Support Package applications.
* Support and maintain consistency with ongoing activities within the development, test and training, and production systems.
* Ensure connectivity between different systems, including Documentum and SAPRouter.
* Manage and maintain the training system database, including refresh cycle, client copies and automated processes to ensure data is accurate and complete.
* Maintain and monitor print infrastructure for printing services.
* Schedule and administer background processing and batch jobs.
* Apply SAP notes as required.

* SAPGUI
* SAP BW installation, administration, and monitoring
* SAP Solution Manager knowledge
* CCMS monitoring
* SAP Enterprise Portal knowledge
* SAP Security
* Unix Shell Script (ksh, csh)
Experience Required
* DB2, Unix (AIX) knowledge
* SAP system administration
* 6 months or more experience as an SAP Basis Engineer
