The Audio Division of our company is looking for an Engineering Tools Development Manager. The Tools Development Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining hardware and software tools used throughout product development as well as deployed to customers. This is a hands-on technical leadership position requiring active involvement in all aspects of design, development and technical problem solving with the development team. This position will work closely with the Systems Engineering, Applications Engineering and Validation Engineering teams to define H/W and S/W tools requirements and develop schedules for key program and customer deliverables.
This position requires leadership with excellent communication, organizational and people skills, as well as prior experience in circuit board hardware design along with embedded firmware and application/GUI software development environments. This candidate should clearly demonstrate a passion for leading and delivering quality products.
Responsibilities include:
Collaborate closely with Systems, Applications, Validation, Marketing and Design to drive tools definition and requirements.
Develop schedules and properly resource loads all projects.
Management and execution against project plans to ensure key deliverables are met per the program requirements and schedule.
Innovate on behalf of internal and external customers to define the tools used to comprehensively test and evaluate company silicon products.
Provide effective communication regarding issues, objectives, dependencies, risks, initiatives and performance to plan.
Qualifications:
Bachelors/Masters in EE with at least 5 years of experience in developing tools and a minimum of 3 years managing a team of S/W and H/W engineers.
Experience creating application design and development tools.
Customer-centric approach with a passion for creating great products and user experiences.
Demonstrated drive to get things done, leadership, accountability, problem-solving skills, enthusiasm, and work ethic.
Excellent problem solving skills, good written and verbal communication, and the ability to work across functional groups and organizations are required.
