Job Purpose:
The Avionics Project Engineer will be responsible for assisting in the design and certification of new avionics systems installations in 14 CFR 23/25 aircraft. Responsibilities will include generating wiring diagrams, wire routing schematics and other required type design data needed to support STC projects, as well as assisting in the development of documentation for new avionics system installations and coordinating with project leads and technicians as needed to complete assigned tasks. Perform conceptual and detailed part design of primary aircraft structures assemblies and installations utilizing AutoCAD 2009 or later in compliance with FAA regulations.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
Assure the integrity of avionics installation
Provide technical skills required to assure that design is analyzed and meets structural requirements
Organize and develop avionics engineering design projects and plans
Document avionics design and maintenance
Comply with codes and regulations
Maintain engineering design team accomplishments
Specify materials for detail parts based on the electrical and environment requirements while specifying hardware for assemblies
Generate wiring diagrams, wire routing schematics and other required type design data needed to support STC projects
Assist in the development of documentation for new avionics system installations and coordinate with project leads and technicians as needed to complete assigned tasks.
Design and develop drawings and documents in support of STC acquisition. Requires the use and knowledge of application software AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Commitment to comply with the requirements of the Avionicas Quality System Manual
Continual improvement of the quality management systems effectiveness
Knowledge and Skill Requirement:
Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Avionics Engineering
Minimum of 3 years experience in Aircraft Avionics Integration
Detailed working knowledge of aircraft wiring diagrams, wiring routing drawings, and the content required on those drawings for compliance to code or regulatory authority
Structural Substantiation, exposure to FCBS and DTA/DTE
Electrical harness, cable design fabrication & Installation
14 CFRs applicable to Systems and Equipment, Electrical
Comprehensive knowledge of Aircraft Avionics Systems
Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment
Proficient with Microsoft Office Products
AutoCAD 3D Modeling Preferred
A&P License Preferred
FAA, DER Systems and Equipment, Electrical Experience Preferred
