Job Description
VO/IP Architect/ engineer. Performs high level design and implementation activities for next generation call center.
General Duties and Responsibilities
Administer and support a mixed network of Avaya and Cisco IP/TDM PBX's, Workforce Management, Voice Response systems, Dialer and ACD Call Management.
Assist in the Engineering design and capacity management of SIP and H.323 network infrastructure.
Voice software/hardware deployment for Port Networks, Gateways, Gatekeepers, Session Border Controllers ,SIP Proxy ,CUBE, and other leading edge call center technologies telephony
Knowledge of Infrastructure and change management processing.
Develop project plans and timelines, assist in tracking milestones, supports escalations
Keep architecture documentation current and review & update all documentation for quality, accuracy, content and consistency.
Maintain accurate logs of trouble isolation and repair efforts.
Serve in leadership functions, such as Lead Technical Engineer, Provides support services for all Telephony Communications Voice networks Serve as a technical expert on telephony related projects. Provide guidance and assistance to other engineers of complex technical issues including wiring, connectors, CSU/DSUs, smart jacks, voice mail, modems, and other related IP and voice peripherals
Build and test proofs of concept in lab setting and create best practices documentation .
Provide Level 2 & 3 engineering and maintenance support for trouble isolation and resolution of the voice
Utilize test tools and equipment to isolate troubles
Skills
Minimum of 8-10 years of Voice/IP Telephony experience.
Demonstrate a proven ability to design and implement the deployment of an Enterprise IP Telephony solution
Avaya S8700 PBX, Session Manager, CMS, Voice Portal, IR and Voicemail, Aspect eWFM, Cisco IPT/IPCC Enterprise/ICM
Knowledge of call transport to include SIP, DS3 and ISDN-PRI.
Knowledge of data networking technologies (e.g. Layer 2 switching and Layer 3 Routing Protocols) required. VOIP and QOS experience.
VoIP/Voice technologies such as QSig signaling and codex, SS7, H.323, MGCP , SIP, G711, G729.
LAN/WAN: 10/100/1000 Ethernet, VLAN/Trunking
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
Ability to multi-task
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Excellent organizational skills
Some travel is required
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Electronics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
Avaya ACA or ACS certifications or equivalent experience on the Avaya S8700 product line.
