Sr. Systems Engineer
Job Description:
As a Sr. Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for the Design and Rollout of Windows Server, MS Exchange 2003 and 2007, and MS SQL Server based solutions. You will work with a team of skilled and cohesive people in an organization that has, we’re happy to say, no shortage of good projects!
Qualifications (Required):
Require an in-depth knowledge of: MS Exchange (v.2003, 2007, 2010 including clustering), MS SQL Server (2005, 2008), Active Directory, Group Policy, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP
8+ years Windows Server (2003, 2008) experience with demonstrated Sr. Level Systems Engineering role in a company with greater than 2,000 employees.
MCSE Certification A team player with excellent communication skills and the ability to prioritize tasks to meet key objectives. These include a demonstrated ability to utilize available resources (people and technology) to support various business requirements.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Following escalation procedures when systems are down
Providing solutions to end-user problems, questions and troubleshooting techniques
Provide desktop support for local staff of up to 85 users
Requires in-depth working knowledge of Microsoft Windows XP desktop operating system and the Microsoft Office suite of applications
Provide local support for conference room equipment to include projection and Polycom video teleconferencing
Requires experience using automated software distribution (preferably LanDesk) and repackaging software tools (preferably InstallShield) including MSI format
Experience automating manual processes using scripting tools is a plus (especially WinBatch/Visual Basic)
Must possess excellent written and oral communications skills and the ability to clearly define projects, objectives, goals, schedules, and assignments
Must be a team player and possess the ability to work effectively with internal business personnel as well as with outside vendors and contractors
Require strong interpersonal and organizational skills, including the ability to meet deadlines, follow written policies and procedures, and maintain superior customer service at all times with all users
Working knowledge of Active Directory is required
Working knowledge of LanDesk, Rapport Server and AS400 is a plus
Ability to travel up to 5% of the time (primarily to Las Vegas, NV and Reno, NV)
Occasional weekend work
