Responsibilities:
Managing and supporting the Oracle database platform, the SQL Server database platform.
Work closely with various application developers, IT technical support teams, members from the business, vendors, and external consultants to develop solutions that solve business problems.
Required Skills:
• 2 to 4 years Database Administration experience with database platforms residing upon Windows, UNIX or Linux platforms and a demonstrated focus toward process automation.
• Prior experience leading Information Technology projects.
• Experience in working with 3rd party enterprise level applications.
• Proven understanding of software development lifecycle.
• Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills.
• DBA Skills regarding Oracle versions: 9, 10 and 11 or SqlServer version 2005, 2008.
• Solid knowledge of database administration tools.
• Experience with backup software (backup, recover, duplicate).
• Experience with database monitoring and performance tuning techniques.
• Experience with structuring Oracle/SqlServer environment, backup, monitoring, standby, security and architecture.
• Good UNIX shell script experience to develop and enhance maintenance scripts.
• Good Knowledge of Oracle basic tools (OEM, export/import, SQLloader), binding those tools in shell script based maintenance.
• Experienced in Database design skills for Online Transaction Processing (OLTP) as well as experience in Database Administration skills including implementations, upgrades, and performance tuning at all levels.
• Working knowledge of Oracle and Sql Server upgrades.
Minimum Requirements:
• Good working knowledge on SQL, PLSQL and UNIX Platform.
• Skilled in at least one programming language (C/C++, Java, C).
• Basic working knowledge of Data Base such as MS SQL Server, DB2, MySql. Familiarity with software development lifecycle and design patterns.
• Strong communication skills are a must.
Education:
• Minimum Bachelors degree (computers/ Experience in computer related field).
• Masters degree is preferred.
• Willing to re-locate anywhere in US for clients.
