Essential Duties:
• Recommends and implements LAN/WAN policies and standards and ensures adherence to security procedures. Maintains contact with outside organizations in the maintenance, service and/or purchases for the LAN/WAN;
• Supports both the Physical and Virtual Infrastructure of the organization and it’s facilities;
• Trains and supports end users in utilizing LAN/WAN and Desktop client technology resources. Works with all departments within the organization to complete objectives related to corporate initiatives and technology implementation;
• Assists the Operational Director with high-level technology planning and design, accurately defining short and long-term objectives and present/future resource requirements; and
• Assists with the tactical implementation of any technology project and provides on-going technology support.

Responsibilities:
1. Installs Operating System releases and system upgrades for Windows 2003, Windows 2008, and Linux servers. Evaluates and installs patches and resolves software related problems;
2. Monitors Infrastructure and Co-Location hardware and software to ensure a high level of data integrity and availability;
3. Performs server evaluation and optimization on a regular basis;
4. Surveys performance needs and goals of LAN/WAN users;
5. Internet/Intranet connectivity and continuity;
6. Manages all administrative aspects of corporate desktop support;
7. Maintains documentation of the physical and logical network;
8. Maintains Corporate and Virtual Servers, including those located off-site;
9. Maintains accurate inventory of data center assets;
10. Participates in departmental on-call rotation; and
11. Maintains Co-Location facility, as needed.

In addition, candidate must demonstrate:
• Experience in hardware and software installation and troubleshooting, as well as proper escalation and resolution procedures;
• Extensive knowledge of computer components, computer system builds and configuration and component and software compatibility.
• Practical experience installing and configuring network firewalls and switches;
• Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures in Information Technology and ability to establish guidelines;
• Installation, configuration and support of COTS applications (McAfee AntiVirus, MS Office, Browsers, etc.);
• Strong background in TCP/IP networking software and hardware including Switches and Firewalls
• Multi-platform experience with Linux and Windows a plus;
• Must be available for the after-hour on call rotation schedule; and
• Excellent and effective customer service, communication and interaction skills are required.

Microsoft products, especially Windows 2003 server/client technologies (7 Years)
Experience in Active Directory (7 Years)
Linux technical experience in the Enterprise environment (3 Years)
Experience in SQL 2005, SQL 2008, MySQL (5 Years)
VMWare VI3 (Highly desired)
iSCSi/FC SANs and SAN fabrics (Highly Desired)
McAfee AntiVirus (2 Years)
IT Support Environment (5 Years)
Experience in Oracle 9.x or above (5 Years)
Experience in Java (5 Years)
Experience in Tomcat (5 Years)
