Description
Fantastic opportunity to work for Red Cedar Solutions Group, a small company based in Okemos, Michigan (near Lansing) .
A Linux, Apache, MySQL & PHP (LAMP) Programmer is responsible for designing and developing software and web pages based on given performance requirements and design. The programmer must have strong communication skills to correspond with clients or business analysts while gathering technical system specifications, which the programmer needs in translating requirements into functional code.

Specific work elements of the position as a LAMP programmer include but are not limited to the following: Ability to gather and understand requirements, development of software or web pages, implementation and support; actively participating in database design, data loading and design layout; be able to work individually and on team projects; verify accuracy, safety and completeness of projects by implementing comprehensive testing and sample data; providing source code and formal documentation. 100% telecommuting is available

Key Responsibilities
Individuals must have experience in creating and maintaining web based applications written in PHP.
* Take use cases and code programs based on the guidelines.
* The individual will be working directly with project managers and analysts, and may speak directly to customers for requirements clarification, depending on the project.
* Responsible to do unit testing, basic integration testing.
* Responsible to code review and mentor/knowledge other team members.
* Responsible to directly administer and to model MySQL databases used for multiple purposes, including reporting/OLAP and OLTP.
* Responsible to work in a Linux environment, do basic Apache administration, write/manage shell scripting procedures, working knowledge of file permissions required.

Experience
* 3 or more years of experience with Linux, including basic shell commands, some scripting, Linux permissions model, and basic configuration.
* 3 or more years of experience with PHP for web development using Apache.
* 2 or more year experience working with and administering MySQL, meaning you understand how to write queries, create tables, and interact with the command line interface. You must know how to perform optimizations
* 2 or more years of experience working with JavaScript, including working knowledge of AJAX either through direct coding or libraries such as JQuery.
* 2 or more years of experience working with style sheets. We are not looking for a designer, but you must know the basics and how to tweak settings when necessary.
* 2 or more years of experience working with some form of version control software such as CVS, Subversion/SVN, Clear Case, Visual Source Safe or GIT.
* 4 or more years in overall web development experience.
* Experience with the Zend MVC model
* Experience with the Doctrine ORM
