A top tier proprietary electronic trading firm is looking for developer to help spearhead the architecture and development of their next generation of automated trading applications. They have multiple openings for high end C++ Software Engineers to design, develop and support highly visible, mission critical applications. This team looks for pure intelligence, logical thinkers with a history of building application or systems from the ground up.
You will leverage your deep knowledge of computer science principals, object oriented design/development, libraries, data structures and algorithms to build highly scalable and robust financial processing systems.
While these opportunities require in depth knowledge of how systems work/interface (front to back), much of the day to day work is server side/back end development leveraging advanced concepts (polymorphism, inheritance, encapsulation), multithreading concepts (synchronization, OS primitives, socket libraries, TCP/IP), Unix OS and inter process communication mechanisms, memory management
byte coding and more.
Additional skills with RDBMS is important. Must understand the basic principles of building and proper database (data modeling, stored procedures, triggers, functions, etc).
To be successful with this group, you need to truly understand how and why technology works. Need to know how to build systems for the future that integrate systems and applications from the past. You will be part of the team creating solutions. Must be able to white board solutions and contribute as part of a think tank. This is a highly collaborative environment that fosters teamwork, brainstorming and innovative solutions.
