Job Description:

Role Description/Expectations :
* Fully Develop and code a Windows 7-based multi-lingual image
according to GE Supplied standards and configurations, supporting both
current laptop, desktop, tablet, workstation, and other hardware
configurations in both 32 & 64 bit
* Develop requested customizations and enhancements to Windows 7
image including writing code and scripts to assist with the Windows 7
image design, development and deployment
* Drive resolution of reported Windows 7 image defects via code or
script; work directly with affected customer to resolve imaging
challenges
* Stay current on capabilities and new enhancements to Windows
imaging and bring new ideas and suggestions up to team
* Ensure that all OS changes support a VDI solution, gold image
creation as required
Deliverables :
* Design, build, test, and deploy Windows 7 OS updates and process
improvements
* Solicit, understand, and respond to business needs with
solutions and product enhancements
* Perform root cause analysis of issues reported through Problem
Management and design, build, test, and deploy solutions
* Manage image changes + testing in Alpha and Beta environments
within internal Client team
* Create and keep current relevant documentation on code and
toolsets created
* Utilize Change Management for image updates and deployment of
those updates
* Document all deliverables and where necessary train support
organizations and additional team members on delivered solutions
1.2 Skill set and Experience required
* In-depth Windows OS knowledge, including Microsoft Windows XP
and Windows 7, at least 4-5 years of combined experience required
* Visual Basic/.Net/C/C++ - at least 3 years of programming
(non-scripting) experience required
* Scripting languages (VBscript/Jscript)/WMI/ADSI/PowerShell) - at
least 3 years of experience required
* Large enterprise desktop development and design knowledge
preferred
* Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, especially management
using Local & Group Policies- at least 3 years of experience preferred
* Hardware integration knowledge preferred
* Strong networking background, including knowledge in LAN/WAN,
VPN, WiFi (wireless), and TCP/IP preferred
* Demonstrated success in understanding, diagnosing, and resolving
escalated issues related to Windows OS or PC Client environment
* Excellent interpersonal, communications and general leadership
skills
* Demonstrated success in working directly with internal
customers, vendors and leading cross-functional teams.
* Excellent time management skills and proven ability to
multi-task competing priorities
* Ability to multitask effectively with little direction
supervision
