Job Summary:

This position will focuses their time in this manner: 75% on proactive business sponsored projects; 15% on proactive maintenance projects; 10% on reactive break/fix. Someone filling this role must have the ability to extract structured requirements; break the requirements down and analyze; put the analysis into a plan; design/engineer a solution; test the solution; deploy the solution; document the solution and train how to maintain the solution. This role wears many hats that cover several distinct disciplines that could also have engineering titles such as Citrix, SAN, AIX, iSeries, VMWare, Script, PKI, Website, Exchange, Active Directory, Disaster Recovery and Application.

Job Responsibilities:


Research and development of new technology and engineering best practices, as well as the implementation of complex and comprehensive solutions for enterprise and Line of Business applications. Will take this knowledge and formulate a design and implement an overall strategy for the infrastructure delivery of physical/virtual hardware, software, storage, domain and backup management.

Primary party responsible for clarifying requirements, designing solutions, providing trade off analysis and budget estimates for project work. Provide input to development of project plans to coordinate technical work efforts of assigned resources and be accountable for implementation of sustainable distributed infrastructure solutions.

Responsible for management and maintenance of distributed server hardware and software solutions to deliver infrastructure and application development project initiatives as it pertains to the EA roadmap.

Required to administer data within corporate change, problem management and request systems, monitor assignment and completion of efforts documented in these systems and properly escalating issues to management. Through escalations this role may serve as a point of contact for interactions with vendors on issue resolution.

Responsible for configuration of infrastructure components supporting project delivery and working within the technology environment to understand and implement solutions according to best practice standards and corporate policies.

Other activities will include troubleshooting problems, communicating risks, articulating the business value and impact of technical and non-technical solutions.

Maintains the lab environment ensuring all Platforms owned hardware/software/test environments are documented and tracked.

Installs various types of software including operating systems and applications on a variety of hardware platforms. This also includes the application of updates, patches and configuration changes.

Installs and maintains server hardware, system racks ensuring a visually clean and consistent environment. With installation and maintenance comes the need to maintain the asset inventory across the brand, including servers and software licenses.

Serve as level 3 support utilizing the ticketing system. Works closely with the Help Desk and Desktop teams to resolve internal customer issues.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:


Education: BS in Computer Science or job equivalence in IT

Experience: Minimum 7 years experience in a similar IT role

Licenses/Certifications: Prefers at least one of the following: IBM Certified Advanced Technical Expert � AIX, IBM Certified Advanced Technical Expert - iSeries, VCDX, CCEA for Citrix XenApp (Presentation Server 4) , EMCSA, MCSE
