Job Description:
The selected applicant will be required to work closely with the Government customer and other Systems Engineers to identify and develop requirements for the future architectural vision of a major Government organization.
• Identify, analyze, define, and coordinate user, customer and stakeholder needs and translates them into technical requirements.
• Assist customer and program teammates in expressing their needs in terms that can be used to generate valid requirements.
• Help identify technology solutions with the potential to improve business processes.
• Work with stakeholders as well as technical and analytical counterparts to define constraints, and develop requirements and concept of operations documentation.
• Work with stakeholders to identify best-fit technical solutions to meet customer needs.
• Identify technical risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Provide conceptual design, prototype, and test cycles appropriate to a chosen technical solution.
• Identify, document and manage interdependencies with other systems and elements of the IT infrastructure.
• Evaluate industry offering to identify products and technologies with the potential to support solution integration and design.
• Perform system engineering tasks.
• Help define user stories (including acceptance criteria) in coordination with end users, data owners and customers.
• Prepare and conduct design reviews.
• Assist in sprint planning and execution.
• Communicate requirements to developers and testers.
• Apply disciplined agile software development processes and tools.
Required Skills:
• 14+ years experience as System Engineer
• Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) of data from disparate data sources to a common repository
• Experience with search applications (Solr / Lucene specifically)
BS Degree is required
