Manager of Global Field Applications Engineering - Carlsbad, CA


Job Description

You will be responsible for growing and managing a team that will support a broad portfolio of high-volume global products, including a number of new product launches. These products include highly-integrated RF/mixed-signal/DSP receiver front-ends as well as complete physical layer SOC products. Your team will be responsible for supporting customer designs, designing and testing PCBs, performing software-hardware integration for customer designs; as well as generating performance procedures, application notes and other product related documentation. You will be responsible for coordinating the activities of our global FAE teams, creating training programs for new products, assessing Company’s FAE hiring needs, as well as recruiting and mentoring superior FAE personnel.

Other responsibilities include:
• Managing high volumes of customer support activity
• Optimized and maintain a FAE process flow that integrates with adjacent functions and organizations.
• Assess and optimize Company FAE laboratory and field equipment needs
• Assess and optimize Company CRM tools as applied to FAE processes, including support ticket management
• Developing and adhering to an annual budget for the Worldwide FAE organization
• Assist in the generation of sales for a relatively new product.
• Work closely with Program Managers in rolling out products changes and new features to current customers.

Required Experience

• BSEE with 7+ years experience, MSEE with 5+ years experience preferred
• Preferred Experience with a world-wide FAE organization building and/or managing.
• Must have technical depth in at least one area, preferably SOC products from an ASIC or ESW perspective.
• Previous experience supporting high volume, consumer oriented products.
• Must be able to communicate clearly and have good customer interface skills.
• Demonstrate evidence of expertise in how to prioritize and escalate product issues efficiently.
• Must be willing and able to travel 30 – 50% to both domestic and international destinations
• Must show evidence of experience in generating sales for a new product rather than servicing existing product line
