CAD Engineer – Analog - Carlsbad, CA

Job Description
You will be responsible to develop and support front-to-back SOC and RF/Mixed-Signal Design Environment and proprietary PDKs.
Responsibilities include:
• Plan, maintain, test and support development, release and use of design kits and libraries to give design teams a competitive advantage while utilizing foundry technologies.
• Work with design teams and tool vendors to optimize the kit development, release and infrastructure for quality and design cycle time reduction.
• Work with design teams and tool vendors to develop best-in-class front-to-back SOC design and tool flows to strive to get to first-silicon success in deep sub-micron technologies.
• Develop and maintain automated test procedures to test all aspects of the kit components and of the overall design environment.
• Develop and maintain a robust release mechanism for the distribution of kits, tools, scripts, and design environment to all sites worldwide.
• Perform tool benchmarks, make tool choice recommendations and develop tool integration requirements.
• Develop and support DRC, LVS and PEX decks and flows using Cadence and Calibre tools
• Develop all components of a PDK, including pCells, device callbacks, rule decks
Required Skills
• BSEE or CS and a minimum of 8 yrs experience as a CAD engineer in a semiconductor company
• MSEE or CS preferred and a minimum of 5 yrs experience as a CAD engineer in a semiconductor company.
• Experience with Cadence analog/mixed-signal simulation tools (Spectre, Spectre RF, ADE, AMS Designer, UltraSim, AMS Ultra)
• Experience with Cadence Schematics Capture, Cadence Virtuoso Tool, Cadence Assura and Calibre Back-End Verification Tools and in writing rule decks for physical verification.
• Proficient with SKILL and Lint for environment customization
• Proficient in UNIX and Perl. Experience in C, C++, awk, Tcl/Tk, HTML is a plus
• Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills with the ability to work independently.
• Understand overall design flow and experience in developing tools and methods for cycle time reduction.
• Highly motivated, excellent team spirit, strong ownership and openness.
