Sturm, Ruger & Company, Newport, NH,USA is principally engaged in the design, manufacture, and sale of firearms to domestic customers.
Approximately 98% of the Company total sales, during the year ended December 31, 2009, were from the firearms segment, and approximately 2% were from investment castings.
Reports to the on site Chief Information Officer. This position specializes in application development and application integration, EDI, development of interfaces from the AS400 to web, Windows and other manufacturing based applications.
Key Responsibilities:
a) Works closely with Application Group manager or Lead P/A to translate business requirements into quality systems, programs,queries and reports.
b) Works with users to define requirements, develop program specs,develop test specs, carry out programs & system testing and develops documentation.
c) Design and Development systems, programs, reports, queries, etc in an IBM AS/400 environment
d) Performs a variety of maintenance on existing systems and programs as well.
e) Participates in the Design and Development and test of java and non java based integrations.
f) Participates in the Design and Development and test of web services.
g) Monitors errors in processing and informs users.

Experience
a) Minimum of 5 years of programming experience in an RPG400 environment.
b) 3+ years with Web Services (SOAP or REST), EDI, SQL (MS SQL Server and DB2/400), XML, Schemas, XSL, XSLT
c) Application to Application Integration in a large Enterprise
d) Experience in a manufacturing environment a big plus
Qualification
a) Bachelors degree in Computer Science or the equivalent
b) Associate Degree with equivalent experience
