CRITICAL PERFORMANCE AREAS
- Plans, collaborates on designs and implements key company communication systems for local, national and global needs
- Evaluates current and foreseeable future requirements to determine appropriate solutions
- Works with Project Managers to develop project plans and execute
- Ensures systems are properly documented, controlled for change and monitored for uptime and performance
- Facilitate the selection and implementation of network, communication and systems infrastructure to match the global needs of the company
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide strategic direction for all IT Communication efforts including Network, Telecom, Messaging, and Mobility as it relates to a Unified Communications strategy.
- Implement improved processes and management methods to generate higher ROI and workflow optimization
- Plan and create the forecasting, implementation and identification of resource requirements for network systems
- Supervise all analytical tasks and activities associated with IT Communication functions (e.g., VoIP network design and engineering, implementation, diagnostics or operations/user support, and Messaging)
- Confer with and advise administrators, user representatives, and technical personnel regarding development and design of wide area and local area networks
- Prepare recommendations on monitoring and analysis tools.
- Participate in the development and implementation of policies and procedures regarding communication equipment, software, maintenance, and monitoring
- Evaluate new products and assists in the creation and documentation of technical standards and interface applications.
- Lead the design, build out, and operation of Telecom systems throughout the company.
- Provide architectural oversight and feedback on complex Network, Telecom, and Messaging designs in a Leadership capacity.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE PREFERRED
Education:
- Bachelors Degree in related field and seven years experience in related field
Experience:
- Six years of experience managing global voice communication systems
- Five years experience managing Internet and Wide Area circuits
- Four years experience with Cisco Call Manager (CCM), Cisco Contact Center Express (IPCC), and Unity
- Four years experience in managing integrated email, phone and other communication systems such as between MS Exchange and Unity
- Four years experience Windows/Unix server management experience
- Four years experience supporting routers, firewalls, layer 2 and layer 3 switches
- Four years experience with DNS, DHCP, domains and various IP based applications
- Four years experience with network, systems management monitoring tools
- Three years experience with global network design and management
- Experience with LAN and WAN QOS design and configurations
- Experience with troubleshooting, trend analysis, and voice QOS tools
- Experience with upgrading the various Cisco voice components
- Proficient understanding of IVR design
QUALITIES DESIRED
- Candidate must have deep technical background with experience directly designing, implementing, and configuring major network and telecommunication systems for large scale implementations in the last 5-6 years.
- 10+ years of IT experience in infrastructure/networking environments
- 5+ years of Cisco VoIP telecommunications planning, designing and engineering
- In-depth knowledge of Call Center Technologies including IPCC and Avaya Systems.
- 10+ years of experience in Large High Growth companies building out large scale implementations.
- Knowledge and deep understanding of carrier technologies including SONET design, Metro-Ethernet, Optiman, Gigaman, MPLS, and other related highly available services.
- Proven working relationships with major networking and telecommunication companies including Cisco, Avaya, Juniper, F5, Microsoft, AT&T, Verizon, etc.
- Demonstrated experience in Cisco Nexus technologies and implementation.
- Excellent Oral and written communication skills
- Possess the ability to motivate and maintaining effective working relationships with staff and partners
- Able to successfully work to reach company goals in an environment in which a wide degree of creative and latitude is required of this position
- Prior experience demonstrating effective management skills
