Detailed Description
QCT Platform Chipset Architecture team is looking for a Staff Smartphone/Smartbook Systems Architect. The Platform Chipset Architecture team defines Smartphone and Smartbook architectures, drives component, cost and performance targets and collaborates with SW architecture team towards the goal of best in class user experience. This team is also responsible for functionality partitioning among chipsets and discrete components, chipset interface requirements, memory architecture for QCT chip-sets. This team collaborates with other QCT teams to define the architecture of the baseband, mixed signal components, RF, PMIC, and connectivity chipsets.
Duties & Responsibilities
• Analysis of Smartphone/Smartbook requirements, mapping of requirements to chipsets, discrete components and development of architectural specifications
• Development of Platform/Chipset/Discrete-component partition with emphasis on overall product cost, performance, flexibility, scalability and reusability
• Definition of chipset interface electrical and logical specifications ensuring consistency and plug & play functionality within product families.
• Analysis of discrete components, cost, power and performance for Smartphones and Smartbooks
• Setting targets for and driving discrete component and cost reduction, and best in class power and user experience.
Skills/Experience:
• MS with 7 yrs or BS with 10 yrs experience in system or chipset development for wireless/handheld applications
• Smartphone and/or Smartbook/Netbook development
• Understanding of High Level Operating System architecture and impact on performance & power
• Power & Clock supply architecture for Smartphones and Smartbooks/Netbooks
• Memory subsystem requirements and architecture
• Platform architecture development , design and test
• RF/mixed signal/connectivity product architecture
• Wireless technologies, semiconductors, packaging, board level design or development
• Modeling and Simulation Tools for functionality, performance, power, cost
Education Required:
• Bachelor's, Computer Engineering and/or Computer Science and/or Electrical Engineering
Preferred: Master's, Computer Engineering and/or Computer Science and/or Electrical Engineering
