Project Manager
We are seeking a Project Manager, who’ll be added to a large project to design and implement applications used by the Academic community. The successful candidate must be able to work under tight deadlines and work independently; work on multiple projects at once; manage individual workload efficiently and effectively; and must have excellent communication skills.
Major Role Responsibilities:
• This PM will work across the subject expert teams during the project lifecycle described below
• Experience working in this type of project and on projects including these types of technologies is preferred
• Some technologies include Microsoft Exchange, SharePoint, and Office Communicator as well as Cisco IP telephony and the integration of all these tools together
• Execute the five major process groups of project management: 1) Initiating, 2) Planning, 3) Executing, 4) Controlling and Monitoring and 5) Closing for the development of new information technology solutions and services
• Perform the following project management services: Project Integration Management, Project Scope Management, Project Time Management, Project Cost Management, Project Quality Management, Project Human Resource Management, Project Communications Management, Project Risk Management, and Project Procurement Management
• Plan, execute, and finalize a project according to an established project's schedule and budget in accordance with applicable client financial, portfolio, information technology, and other applicable policies and procedures
• This includes managing the project team by engaging resources, assigning task owners, and directing, influencing, and coordinating the efforts of team members as well as internal service providers and third-party contractors or consultants to deliver services and project artifacts according to plan
• Define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business goals and requirements in collaboration with management, technologists, and stakeholders (a deliverable is a scope statement or statement of work and Project Management Plan)
Project Management Qualifications:
• Progressive experience in IT and/or business management Entry-level
• Project Manager Level 1 (1-3+ years)
• Intermediate Project Manager Level 2 (3-5+ years)
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated experience in leading and delivering multiple projects of varying scope and complexity
• Demonstrated success in managing customer relationships
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships, influence outcomes, and deliver effective presentations to a variety of audiences
• Demonstrated ability to interact comfortably with all levels of management and colleagues
• Ability to engage and lead customers, project teams, and service partners in the development and implementation of specific Shared Services
• Infrastructure solutions that are aligned with the overall company and IT strategies
• A strong understanding of Project Management, test practices and methodologies
• Experience with industry standards in project management and development methodologies (PMI, etc.)
• Broad experience across multiple infrastructure technologies from desktops / laptops and other end user devices to servers, data center, and network devices including their deployment and operations
