Require experienced technician(s) (S2 Tech) for Hardware Image Installation in large corporate environment –
• Perform Hardware Image Installation utilizing supplied documentation and tools
Quick power test and attach Asset Tags to new hardware systems
Move new hardware systems into staging area and connect to KVMs (desktops) or specified networks
Image new hardware systems; up to 3-5 machines concurrently
Join new hardware systems to the domain (Radia)
Perform USMT backup and restores using UNC paths
Perform validation of successful user data backup and restores
Verify new hardware systems are ready for deployment
Inventory new hardware systems, record information to Excel file (asset number, machine name, make, model, etc.) and return Excel file to Project Tech Lead
Package new hardware systems for deployment
• Perform Hardware Deployment utilizing supplied documentation and tools
Deliver the new hardware systems to end-users
Login as the end-user
Configure Microsoft Outlook
Fix screen saver timeout
Set proxy and homepage
Insure that end-users backup data
Copy/transfer Favorites (bookmarks) and other designated files to new hardware systems
Install network or local end-user printers
Test the hardware systems after deployment in accordance with the supplied documentation and tools
• Perform Legacy Hardware Collection utilizing supplied documentation and tools
Collect legacy hardware systems within 48-hours of deploying new hardware systems
Inventory legacy hardware systems, record information to Excel file (asset number, serial number, machine name, make, model, etc.) and return Excel file to Project Tech Lead
Package legacy hardware systems using Dell packaging/boxes and ship to Hauppauge address
Return end-users work area to its pre-migration state after completion of work
• Responsible for escalating any Hardware Refresh issues to Project Tech Lead in a timely manner (within 15 minutes)
A+ certification required; minimum 2-years of experience in Hardware Refresh in large corporate environment with the following technical disciplines:
• Experience in applying workstation builds with Windows XP installation and configuration in RAM for Editorial devices
• Experienced in workstation data migration and data cleansing tools/techniques
• Knowledge imaging Dell E4300/E6400 laptops and Dell Optiplex 760 desktops working from WinPE bootable media
• Experience in networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and understands UNC connectivity relationship between workstation and servers
• Possesses a basic understanding of how thin clients work
• Strong application and hardware troubleshooting skills
• Candidates should have excellent follow through, customer service skills, strong work ethic, results oriented and be able to work independently as well as within a team
