Detailed Description
Company's High Speed Ethernet Controller group is spearheading Company's program into the Fiber Channel storage market. Company is developing hardware and software for the next generation of Fibre Channel Host Bus Adapters (HBAs), which will exploit the ubiquity of installed Ethernet to proliferate a new technology known as Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE). The Fibre Channel HBA market is estimated to be somewhere on the order of 1 Billion dollars annually, presenting an enormous growth opportunity for one of Company's oldest and most important lines of business. Company is actively recruiting engineering talent with Fibre Channel product experience, including software engineers, LSI engineers, and Test/DVT/QA engineers. Specifically, for this position, Company is building a large world class Fibre Channel product validation and interoperability lab, and seeks to staff this effort accordingly.
Leading the charge in next generation enterprise servers is Company's family of converged network interface controllers (or C-NICs) designed to drastically change the way servers are built and deployed in the future. This family of single-chip C-NIC devices simultaneously runs three specific functions including accelerated TOE (TCP offload engine) for data networking, accelerated / offloaded block storage networking protocols, and accelerated RDMA (remote direct memory access) for high-performance server clustering - all over a single Ethernet fabric. By converging disparate network traffic over Ethernet, Companys C-NICs enable a lower total cost of ownership (TCO) relative to configuring, maintaining and running three separate and disparate networks.
Be responsible for helping to construct a large Fibre Channel product validation and interoperability test lab. Responsibilities include: helping to identify and procure a large amount of Fibre Channel networking equipment, helping to construct the internal Fibre Channel test / validation / interoperability lab, understand product architecture, and to spend time collecting, analyzing, and reporting on data associated with test runs and scenarios for the Fibre Channel network that you help to construct. Also help in the creation of comprehensive product test plans, and the design/development/implementation of a complete automated regression system using specialized networking test fixtures, applications, scripting (Perl, Tcl, Python, etc.).
Qualification Requirements
B.Sc. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering plus 7+ years of related experience in software development or QA / DVT / Test & Validation.
Good at setting up test networks and at developing automated test environments (Perl / Python / Tcl scripting languages, etc.).
Good general knowledge on Windows and Linux (Fibre Channel a major plus)
Good networking / development experience - Ethernet knowledge is mandatory
Excellent communicator
Highly motivated self starter
5-10 years industry experience
Knowledge about networking concepts is essential. <>
