Candidate Responsibilities A computer engineer is needed to support high performance computing systems and embedded computing systems for Nuclear Medicine products.
• Help select new computer processing systems for Nuclear Medicine business based on processing or I/O requirements.
• Select replacement computer systems and/or parts for obsolete computer systems or hardware components.
• Write C++ applications for Windows and Linux to measure performance of computer hardware.
• Identifies new hardware and software technologies that maximize system performance and minimize product cost.
Candidate Profile • BS in computer science or computer engineering with 3 – 8 years of professional software engineering experience in a product development environment.
• The candidate understands computer hardware architecture pertaining to processing performance. The candidate should understand multi-core, multi-processor, hyper-threading, and multi-server applications.
• The candidate understands computer hardware architecture pertaining to I/O performance. The candidate should understand performance factors of SCSI, SATA, RAID, traditional disk drives, FLASH disk drives, PCI bus, NICs, and memory.
• The candidate has built PC systems by component for high-performance applications such as gaming.
• The candidate understands performance factors of 32-bit Windows and 64-bit Windows as well as XP Pro configuration, XP Embedded Image Development and configuration.
• Experience with Windows device drivers is a plus.
• Experience with Linux is a plus.
• The candidate understands networking (TCP/IP), router configuration, and network security.
• The ideal candidate has GPU experience.
• The ideal candidate has experience with Intel performance tools such as Intel Threading Building Blocks and VTune.
