Job Description:

Location: Hauppauge, NY
Duration: 2-3 months with possible extension.
Start Date: Jan 18th 2010
Work Hrs: M-F 8 AM - 5 PM.

• Perform staging for Hardware Image Installation utilizing supplied documentation and tools
o Receive Dell hardware shipments and unpack shipments (hardware will consist of desktops/laptops)
o Inventory new hardware systems; record information to Excel file (asset number, machine name, make, model, etc.)
o Quick power test and perform visual check for defects,
o Move new hardware systems into staging area and connect to KVMs (desktops) or specified networks
o May need to assist technicians with imaging new hardware systems
o Attach Asset Tags to new hardware systems and record information on Excel file
o Verify new hardware systems are ready for deployment
o Package new hardware systems for deployment and/or shipping to deployment sites
• Perform Hardware Deployment utilizing supplied documentation and tools
o May need to assist technicians with testing the hardware systems for deployment in accordance with the supplied documentation and tools
o May need to assist technicians with delivering the new hardware systems to end-users
• Perform Legacy Hardware Collection utilizing supplied documentation and tools

Minimum 2-years of experience providing administrative and technical assistance to project teams during migration and coordinating daily tasks in large corporate environment:
• Candidates should have excellent follow through, customer service skills, strong work ethic; results oriented and are able to work independently as well as within a team
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to escalate technical issues to Project Leads
• Experience with shipping and receiving packages and maintaining inventory status (knowing what stage items are)
• Experience with SharePoint and Microsoft Excel; entering collected data into spreadsheets and providing daily updates
• Some knowledge in Hardware Image Installation, workstation builds, deployments, data migration, data cleansing tools/techniques and networking connectivity
• Approachable and accessible to fellow team members
• Able to lift up to 40 lbs (boxes of computer equipment)
• Fluent in English – excellent verbal and written communication skills
