PC TECHNICIAN REPAIR MANAGER
Job Description:
Our client is currently recruiting a highly motivated individual to lead its PC Repair team in Denville, NJ. The manager will be responsible for the repairs, upgrades and configuration of hardware products across various types of PCs to meet customer requirements as well as managing day-to-day activities for repair technicians.
Management Responsibilities:
Set and communicate clear expectations priorities and measures of success
Manage resources as priorities shift
Provide guidance & mentor repair technician staff to excel in their roles
Recommend corrective actions required to meet performance standards and acknowledge good work ethics / habits
Insure the repair staff updates repair logs & performs housekeeping on a daily basis
Provide daily updates to management with respect to repairs as they pertain to customer orders
Insures that repair staff follows policies & procedures with respect to raw material and semi-finished goods material movement; systematically and physically to obtain company objectives of 100% inventory accuracy
Proactively looks for solutions (upgrade, conversions
) to yield semi-finished goods to a sellable level
Demonstrates sound judgment for internal and external customer service
Manages RMA return repairs to minimize customer downtime
Will have strong communication skills & experience dealing directly with customers to provide hardware and software support for RMA related inquiries
Qualify and work with third party vendors for outsourced repairs
Implement employee training with respect to new products, technologies and personal growth
General Responsibilities:
Configure, upgrade and test computer hardware and peripherals.
Work with production personnel to drive and complete projects.
Technically and accurately inspect, classify, sort, count, diagnose, evaluate, disassemble and repair computer hardware.
Record configuration, repairs performed and cosmetic information utilizing existing production database.
Organize and maintain technical facility.
Help set standards and policies to improve efficiency and reduce cost.
Configure, test and recommend new hardware and software for product testing
Work with production personnel to drive and complete projects
Disassemble repair and reassemble PC hardware (notebooks, PDAs, systems, servers, etc.)
Evaluate and identify hardware for specific disposition (Resell, Repair, Disassemble, Recycle, etc.)
Create machine specific software loads
Upgrading products through the addition of new hardware or software updates
Adjusting, repairing, and replacing worn or defective parts.
Skills & Abilities:
Working and support knowledge of MS operational software and Outlook, Word, Excel
Diagnostic and troubleshooting utilities
BIOS configuration and upgrade utilities
Ability to configure, maintain and upgrade PC workstations and servers
Ability to diagnose and repair PC workstations and servers
Ability to install, upgrade and perform backup on software
Ability to identify and install pc hardware and peripherals
Ability to answer computer and software related questions in technical and non-technical terms
Knowledge of Microsoft applications and operating systems
Ability to understand and carry out instructions furnished in various forms (written, oral or diagram)
Strong communication skills: written, verbal, comprehension
Provide updates, status, and completion information to the company database
Qualifications:
2 yr Associates Degree in electronics field preferred
Technical management experience
