IS Manager/Service Delivery
(Manager Windows Servers)
GENERAL SUMMARY
Company is recruiting for a highly experienced Manager, Windows Servers AK/WA. Reporting to the Director, Servers & Storage, and located in Renton, WA, the right candidate will have leadership responsibility for a team of 12 engineers to oversee the design, implementation, operation, and lifecycle of Windows Servers for the Enterprise Technology team of Enterprise Information Services. The Manager will be responsible for the daily operation and management of the production servers to be highly available, reliable, secure, fully documented and implemented to comply with industry best practice standards. The right candidate will have demonstrated experience working in a distributed environment, leading teams spanning multiple states and regions. S/he will also need to demonstrate a balance between hands-on technical expertise of the technology and strong team leadership success.
Enterprise Information Services provides Information Technology infrastructure services for regional entities. Information Technology infrastructure services are provided according to regional business need with priority and special emphasis placed on production systems, production incidents and emergencies, regional projects and EIS projects in this descending order of importance.
The incumbent performs all duties in a manner that promotes Company mission, values, and philosophy. In all aspects, he/she serves as a role model for the values and mission of the organization.
PRIMARY DUTIES
Leadership and Team Management
Ensures all staffing is done on a timely basis while meeting compliance regulations.
Leads a team Windows Servers Engineers in Washington and Alaska and has overall accountability for building, growing and optimizing individual and team performance.
Works with staff to establish individual performance objectives/metrics/plans. Ensures all appraisals and development discussions are communicated on a timely basis, works with individuals and HR to improve performance as needed.
Identifies opportunities for on-the-job training, recommending formal training options. Develops training budget recommendations, and monitors staff completion of training schedule.
Plans, designs and implements non-capital projects.
Develops annual operating budget, administers and reconciles budget variance reports. Develops and recommends annual capital budget proposals.
Servers
Manages the designs, configuration, operation and maintenance of Windows server systems.
Demonstrates strong, effective, collaborative customer skills to work with regional customer to determine requirements and meet expectations.
Represents and conveys EIS operational goals and expectations, and to ensure successful execution of project objectives and daily operational priorities.
Ensures systems are maintained for optimal availability, reliability, scalability, and performance.
Oversees the builds, documentation and refinement of operational processes.
Implements automated system monitoring and to ensure alerts from the monitoring systems are delivered to the appropriate support staff.
Actively resolves operational incidents through root cause analysis, and other troubleshooting efforts in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Holds vendors responsible for delivery of contracted products and services.
Actively participates in strategic planning and technology roadmaps.
Monitors and anticipates the evolving needs of the server technologies and works with the team, vendors, and regional IS organizations to plan and execute the continuous processes of capacity management and equipment upgrades.

Participates in on-call rotation; carries a pager, cell phone and ensures availability during specified hours of coverage.
May be required to travel up to 25% of work schedule.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
Minimum of an Undergraduate Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems or a relevant discipline to the duties of the position, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum of ten (10) years of progressive, IT experience focused on enterprise-level, back-end technology within a distributed environment.
Minimum of five (5) years of IT management/leadership experience, with proven success in leading large, remote teams.
Healthcare experience is strongly preferred.
Compensation: $110,000 - $120,000 ($115,000 targeted); paid relocation possible
