Opening for a Senior level experienced Network Datacenter design engineer in the segment of Transportation. The focus of the position is network planning, engineering, and deployment. The position requires a combination of technical, consulting, research, planning, documentation, and leadership skills. Prior experience performing network design and implementations are a must. Network engineering in environments of moderate to high complexity and scale.
Daily responsibilities may include:
Work with internal customers to develop solutions
Work with internal customers to develop technical solution during solutions design phase
Work with Technical Project Managers to understand project priorities and help sequence network engineering components accordingly
Communicate within project teams to set traffic engineering deliverables and expectations (time/resource requirements)
Effectively identify and communicate risks during course of projects
Work with Information Engineers to ensure compliance of solutions with corporate policies
Provide detailed solution documentation updates
Coordinate with client to ensure appropriate monitoring of new solutions is included as part of roll out
Design and implement traffic management systems based on approved architecture to meet the customer's needs, and network performance/capacity guidelines.
Ensure the continuous availability of all data network services
Respond to escalations, tickets, and alerts from client and Helpdesk issued to network engineering in a timely manner. Provide resolution information and work with other teams to complete impact analysis where appropriate
Provide comprehensive and maintenance plans for change management review and approval, implement according to plan
Lead projects internal to network engineering team to improve performance of network
Participate in ''On Call'' rotation
Technical requirements:
Senior level experience with Cisco products, their specifications, and uses. Require 8+ years of working with TCP/IP networks and be proficient with OSI model.
Proficient with routers, switches, multiplexors, modems, transceivers. Must be able to create router and switch configurations and be very knowledgeable of Cisco command line instructions.
Senior experience with hardware load balancers - Netscaler, Foundry, F5 Labs or Alteon and load balancing technologies such as Cisco, SLB, etc.
Fully competent in performing TCP/IP subnetting using a variety of masks.
Solid foundation understanding cabling systems, HVAC, power, and other facilities.
Experienced in using EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, GRE tunnels, IPSec, SSL, VPN, HSRP, DHCP, QoS, CoS, priority queuing, trunking, and other data communication protocols. Experience in implementing secure measures within hosting architectures (e.g. access-lists, firewalls, IDS, VPNs, etc.
Fully competent to design Local Area Network connections in a complex and large scale datacenter.
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNP) or Design Associate (CCDP).
Experience with network monitoring, capacity planning, change management, and configuration policies
Additional technical requirements preferred
Other relevant Network certifications
Network Security and firewalls
Experience with network tools such as Cisco works, SolarWinds, NetQoS, NetCool, Vitalnet, and other performance monitoring software
Senior level Network datacenter design engineer. Very strong router, switch, and load balancer experience.
Expert on Cisco Routers and Switches. Must also have senior level experience on Load Balancers (F5, Cisco, others).
Must be adept at design and configurations in a large and complex network.
Must have datacenter experience.
Responsibilties will occasionally require after 5pm or weekend work for 3rd level support and client Change windows.

Senior level experience with multi-protocol, multi-tiered Cisco router and switches
be knowledgeable of challenges and requirements posed by high traffic datacenters
be able to handle multiple projects concurrently.
Strong troubleshooting skills
be able to work occasional after hours as needed for Implementation and Troubleshooting support.
have excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to communicate complex technical information in a concise and articulate manner.
be flexible and creative to adapt to environments where functional and business objectives evolve and change rapidly.
be a capable individual contributor with ability to work with other departments and coordinate activities. Strong customer service skills are essential.
have proven ability to manage vendor relationships, translate business requirements into technical delivery plans, and execute plans into Delivery.
keep abreast of changes in technology currently deployed.
be organized and proficient with accounting for time, billing specifics, and company reporting activities.
Self motivated to take ownership of projects and able to effectively manage their own time without immediate supervision
Ability to accept constructive feedback via manager observations and peer review and use it to improve performance
