CFS is a fully cleared, professional services provider focusing in the Defense, Intelligence and Advanced Technology sectors of the federal government. Our corporate headquarters is located in Anchorage, Alaska; our line operations are managed from our office in Lorton, Virginia. We currently have facilities and personnel at multiple locations in Northern Virginia and Norfolk, Virginia, as well as offices in six states plus Asia, Europe, Caribbean, Latin America and the Middle East.

Since beginning operations in spring of 2005, CFS has been growing at a phenomenal rate. In April 2005 we had 3 employees; by the end of the calendar year for 2008, CFS had over 450 employees with continued aggressive growth projected over the course of the coming fiscal year. Revenues for the fiscal years of 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008 have risen from approximately $1M, to $34M, to $58M, to $126M, to projected revenue of $180M for FY2009. In order to manage this aggressive growth rate, CFS has secured a substantial line of credit from the National Bank of Alaska (Wells Fargo), which ensures our ability to meet our financial requirements and support continued rapid growth.

CFS has a full professional staff to support corporate operations in the following areas finance; contracts management; security management; human resources; and network support. We utilize the CostPoint ® software application for financial reporting and contracts management.

Summary:
Provide system support for Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) Linux operating environments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform system administration for the Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating system.
• Install and configure Linux operating system;
• Setup files storage with the proper permissions;
• Responsible for the security and administrative controls of service(s) and/or system(s);
• Monitor server for availability, latency, and gateway queuing;
• Monitor the Linux server application system and security logs using various tools such as NetIQ;
• Maintain current knowledge of vendor upgrades and patches for both the server and client applications;
• Evaluate vendor provided system changes/upgrades and provide recommendations;
• Apply all approved patches, upgrades, and enhancements in accordance with BIA configuration management procedures;
• Perform backup and recovery task for Linux systems;
• Create and manage all Linux user and system accounts in accordance with BIA procedures and policies;
• Secure the Linux systems in accordance with the BIA security requirements.

Supervision:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Proven customer service skills with the ability to multi-task.
• Ability to rely on experience to correct deficiencies.
• Demonstrate good communication skills.
• Possess background in both Microsoft and Oracle environment.
• Ability to perform a variety of tasks supervised and unsupervised.

Education and/or Experience:
Associates Degree with 2 to 4 years experience in the IT field or equivalent combination of education and experience; to include experience with Network monitoring. Experience with REMEDY Trouble Ticket application is desired.

Computer Skills:
Strong technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols and standards and strong technical knowledge of telecommunications, networks and PC operating systems.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Red Hat Certified (RHCT)

Clearance: Ability to pass a Background check prior to hire date.
