Chenega Federal Systems (CFS) is an 8(a) Alaska Native-owned, Small Disadvantaged Business based in Lorton, Virginia. CFS is a 100% wholly-owned subsidiary of Chenega Corporation, an Alaska Native Corporation formed under the laws of the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (ANCSA).
CFS is a fully cleared, professional services provider focusing in the Defense, Intelligence and Advanced Technology sectors of the federal government. Our corporate headquarters is located in Anchorage, Alaska; our line operations are managed from our office in Lorton, Virginia. We currently have facilities and personnel at multiple locations in Northern Virginia and Norfolk, Virginia, as well as offices in six states plus Asia, Europe, Caribbean, Latin America and the Middle East.
Since beginning operations in spring of 2005, CFS has been growing at a phenomenal rate. In April 2005 we had 3 employees; by the end of the calendar year for 2008, CFS had over 450 employees with continued aggressive growth projected over the course of the coming fiscal year. Revenues for the fiscal years of 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008 have risen from approximately $1M, to $34M, to $58M, to $126M, to projected revenue of $180M for FY2009. In order to manage this aggressive growth rate, CFS has secured a substantial line of credit from the National Bank of Alaska (Wells Fargo), which ensures our ability to meet our financial requirements and support continued rapid growth.
CFS has a full professional staff to support corporate operations in the following areas finance; contracts management; security management; human resources; and network support. We utilize the CostPoint ® software application for financial reporting and contracts management.

Summary:
Provide general linguistic support for military operations and interpret during interviews, meetings and conference.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Interpret and translate written and spoken communications.
2. Transcribe and analyze verbal communications.
3. Scan, research, and analyze foreign language documents for key information.
4. Submits intelligence information reports to the customer in a timely manner.
5. Submits supporting graphics derived from translation activities to the customer in a timely manner.
6. Maintains an awareness of all pertinent intelligence requirements levied by United States Army Southern Command and other agencies.
7. Other duties may be assigned to meet mission needs.
Supervision:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Minimum Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
• Possess a strong command of Pashtu and English.
• Read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

Education and/or Experience:
Graduate of the Defense Language Institute with a recent DLPT of 2+/2+ or higher in Pashtu or a 3/3 on the Interagency Language Roundtable.
Computer Skills:
Must have knowledge of a variety of computer software applications and ability to prepare and transmit correspondence to Headquarters. Create and maintain administrative databases.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations, Clearance:
Active Secret with the ability to upgrade to Top Secret and pass CI polygraph.
