Contract-to-hire position
Location: Jacksonville,FL
Duration: 6+ Months- Contract-to-hire
Rate: $35-42/hr (80-85k for full time)
Primary Characteristics:
The Senior Software Engineer position is responsible for implementation of the tactical and strategic Technological Solutions to meet the requirements of client products and services. They must execute and maintain standard corporate practices for operational software processes and data management. The Senior Software Engineer is expected to take on more complex projects and higher levels of responsibility then the Software Engineer.
Essential Functions:
* Translate more complex business and functional documents into program/applications to meet business requirements.
* Responsible for the successful implementation and maintenance of Business Unit technology projects
* Ensure compliance with all software and infrastructure standards within TSD and the Business Units
* Lead the support, integration, administration, and enhancement of all Business Unit technology
* Ensure compliance with all software and infrastructure standards within TSD and the Business Units.
* Execute prescribed data integration activities, and off-the shelf product delivery and integration.
* Build, test and maintain internally developed applications.
Minimum Qualifications: (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):
* Knowledge of several of the following is preferred, JAVA, JSP, XML, Oracle/SQL, Apache, Tomcat/JBoss, STRUTS, J2EE, Fair Isaac Blaze Advisor and Web Services
* Some experience with UNIX operating system highly desirable.
* Ability to understand and comprehend business specifications.
* Strong analysis and problem solving skills.
* Ability to interface with business units.
* Ability to communicate issues and escalate problems.
* Ability to work to a plan, and adapt to changing conditions.
* Ability to work seamlessly within a team as well as manage individual tasks.
* Ability to create technical documentation to describe implementation of business spec (IT SPECS).
* Ability to take the lead on more complex projects.
Training and Experience:
* A.S./B.S. Degree in an information technology, engineering or software discipline or equivalent experience.
* 5 - 7 Years experience working in related field.
