Detailed Description: The Monitoring Engineer would be responsible for taking a lead technical role in directing the client Enterprise Tool management, evaluation, integration, implementation and support. The individual will need to work closely with IT and IS Partners to define requirements and architect scalable and repeatable solutions within our current and future tool sets.
Assists in the development, deployment, integration and programming of cross platform infrastructure tools
Administer/Architect VMWare Enviornment, HP OpenView (UNIX and Windows), HP BAC/BPM, BigFix, Active Reasoning, Performance and Capacity Planning Tools across the client Enterprise.
Develop custom solutions to meet various needs
Build complex Application Monitoring Solutions
Identify areas for development or improvement in policies and procedures
Document required test data
Work cross functionally to gather requirements and evaluate current and perspective tools to meet business requirements.
Mentor on-shore and off-shore associates
Qualifications:
8-10 years overall technical experience
3 to 5 Years of experience with HP OpenView, VMWare, Active Reasoning, BigFix, OV Performance manager and HP BAC
Experience architecting end-to-end solutions, must be able to see the big picture
Experience working cross functionally across multiple platform engineering disciplines (Linux, UNIX, Windows, I-Series and Middleware technologies)
Experience scripting in Shell, PERL and VB a must
Strong Process improvement skills a must and ITIL Certification a big plus
Working Knowledge of event correlation and monitoring tools such as HP BPM, HP NNM, SiteScope, Robot and Foglight
Very strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Experience developing VuGen scripts
Ability to prioritize and multi-task
Strong interpersonal and team-building skills
Good written and oral communications
Demonstrated documentation skills
Experience working with and monitoring Database Technologies (MS SQL Server, Oracle, DB2) a plus
Working knowledge of J2EE and messaging technologies also a plus
