DESCRIPTION: We seek an experienced Siebel Database Administrator as part of the development team within the MIS organization. This role will necessitate good knowledge of Siebel and its ancillary applications. Apart from database administration this position would also involve problem analysis and documentation of the solutions.
REQUIREMENTS:
Very Strong SQL knowledge.
Setup and configure MS SQL database for Siebel Installation and trouble free running of the application.
Interpreting Indexes, effect of indexes on the performance of the system, review query optimization, process design and performance tuning.
Writing DTS packages and interpreting SQL queries, especially DDL statements and SQL's required for administering the system.
Execute scripts for data conversions, data modifications, schema changes, and data model changes.
Define, plan and execute data retention, backup, and recovery.
Coordinate/implement database rollouts (including testing/certification).
Daily maintenance of database infrastructure (checking logs, etc.).
Implement database server software maintenance, upgrades and patches.
Troubleshoot data related Siebel issues.
Coordinate development/implementation of new database Application.
Create/terminate user accounts.
Maintain/update all appropriate documentation.
General system administration (Windows XP).
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
An average of 6-8+ years total IT experience
An average of 4-5+ years Database Administration (Includes Development, QA experience)
An average of 4-5+ years of experience with Siebel application.
An average of 2-3+ years Siebel 7.x Application Administration
An average of 1-2+ years Systems / Network / Application Administration
EDUCATION: BS in Computer Science or equivalent discipline required
Having Siebel Core Consultant certification (7 or greater) and understanding concepts of Siebel EAI and Siebel data interface is a plus.
The Individual must be highly self-motivated, inquisitive, with a proven track record of achieving goals, delivering highest standards of quality and meeting milestones with an ability to work both individually and as part of a team. Requires above average communication & organizational skills as well as extreme accuracy and attention to detail.
We are on Siebel 7.8 with Microsoft SQL 2005 database.
