Software Test Engineer
Duties:
This position supports software development. The candidate is expected to validate real time embedded software against a corresponding software acceptance test document. The validation process will occur both on the bench and on physical crop harvesting machines and would include testing of both in-house and out-of-house written software. This position will also be responsible for demonstrating the clean build of the software.
Activities will include conducting software acceptance regression tests as well as maintaining the software acceptance test documentation. The candidate will also lead in the writing of the software acceptance test in conjunction with the programmer and the systems engineer.
This position requires excellent verbal and written communication skills. In addition, the candidate is expected to support process initiatives within the department and participate in such activities such as code inspections, specification reviews, etc.
The position requires that decisions be made in regards to software passing the associated software acceptance test and clean build. In addition the candidate will be asked to participate in future directed tasks. The candidate will be held responsible for all assigned activities as to performance quality and schedule.
Requirements:
BSEE or BSCS degree required
Minimum 3 + years related experience required.
Embedded system test experience is required.
‘C’ coding experience is required.
Real time control experience is desirable.
Familiarity with structured design methodology is desirable.
Understanding of software process issues (SEI CMM) is desirable.
Experience with operating crop harvesting machines is a plus.
20 to 30% travel is required.
