Primary Role:
• As a member of the OCIO, IT Strategic Planning Team the Business Architect position will be responsible for supporting one of client's Application Services teams.
• This position will provide technical leadership to deliver high-quality solutions in collaboration with the Applications Services team.
Detailed Responsibilities:
• Responsible for architecting systems consistent with the IT strategy and existing infrastructure.
• Responsible for facilitating and documenting the IT strategy supporting the applications services area.
• Ensures all capabilities delivered align with the original project objectives, and the IT strategy.
• Closely partners with customers to assess feasibility of new capabilities being proposed
• Provides vendor evaluations to AS management and technical staff
• Ensures standards and guiding principles are considered for new systems and upgrades
Specific Deliverables:
• Executes and manages enterprise-wide projects
• Facilitates working groups to resolve systemic issues
• Chairs governance committees over-seeing enterprise services to ensure solutions are developed and issues are quickly resolved.
• Ensures education opportunities are provided to Application Services teams.
• Responsible for the delivery of the IT strategic plan
Experience and Education Requirements:
• BA/BS degree or equivalent experience is required
• Must have 10+ years designing, developing, scalable, and highly-available applications
• Must have 10+ years as a Software Engineer or Technical Lead for large scale systems implementations
• Strong experience in working across multiple technology platforms
• Strong facilitation skills across cross-functional and geographic teams
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, conflict resolution, and customer service skills
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high volume, deadline-driven environment
Other:
• Occasional overtime; no travel
• Must be comfortable operating in a new position with ill-defined processes.
