Summary:
• Manages and maintains the Burbank Data Center based mainframe & server information processing requirements across a 7 day per week 8 hour schedule (7 shifts per week).
• This includes all elements contained within Facility infrastructures, Operations & Production Control, Post Processing, Script Processing and Data Entry.

Responsibilities:
• Manages Operations Control Center requirements
• Manages Production Control Center processing
• Manages all Incident / Recovery processing
• Manages and maintains Burbank-based infrastructures
• Manages equipment installation /de-installation - rack and floor space
• Maintains Physical Security / Access Standards
• Maintains and exercises Emergency Planning policies
• Manages and maintains Post & Script Processing requirements
• Administers Personnel Performance Programs
• Ensures that Shift is adequately scheduled 7x24x365 coverage

Requirements/Work Experience

• Minimum 7-10 years Operations Management, preferably involving Shift Management in a large Data Center complex.
• A very good understanding of electrical, mechanical and cable systems in use in a data center environment including feeders, transformers, generators, switchgear, UPS systems, ATS/STS units, PDU/PMM units, chillers and air handling units. An ability to communicate effectively with contractors performing maintenance or upgrade work.
• Expert knowledge as it relates to Change, Incident and Recovery Management.
• Expert knowledge in the operation of laser based print and script processing systems.
• Expert knowledge in the principles and best practices surrounding Data Center automation.
• Expert knowledge in backup and recovery involving Tape Management Systems.
• Experience working with AS400, IBM X and S series mainframes

Education, Professional Training, Technical Training or Certification

• Must have a degree in a related computer field or equivalent experience.

Knowledge/Skills

• Must have better than average PC skills and be able to personally use MS PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Visio at an expert level.
• Must possess a working knowledge of Remedy, Outlook, Tidal, Netcool and Niku.

Other Requirements

• Must be willing to work flexible hours, including hours beyond the normal schedule and be willing to carry a Blackberry, responding to inquiry within a reasonable period of time (less than 30 minutes). Directors in Operations are expected to rotate shifts every six months to gain an overall understanding of the environment.
• The ability to work autonomously addressing any issues that arise day-or-night.
• Positive, “can do”, customer service attitude.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
• Must develop and maintain working relationships with all other support groups involved in supporting the Data Center including those in Application Services.
